Obituary of Anna N. McCulley
Anna N. McCulley, 87, of Stamford, formerly of Davenport, passed away peacefully, early Saturday morning, February 4, 2017 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home, Stamford.
Born on February 2, 1930 in Cairo, NY, Anna was the daughter of the late Leslie and Hattie (Matthews) McLain.
She was married to the late John G. "Jack" McCulley on September 21, 1947 a union that lasted for nearly 61 years until his passing on August 21, 2008.
Anna worked as a machine operator for the former Oneonta Dress Factory and retired from Sanyo's Clothing Co in Oneonta.
Anna was a member of the Charlotte Valley Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Deacon and was a member of the Senior Citizens club of Davenport and the Swinging Bee's Square Dancing Club and the Retired Sanyo's Employees Club.
Anna enjoyed painting, crocheting, reading, gardening and sewing. She will be remembered for her cooking and baking, especially for homemade donuts.
Besides her parents and husband, Anna was predeceased by a brother: Wallace McLain; and a sister: Minnie Huck.
She is survived by her children: Jacky and Bill Fingar, Jr., Bert and Chuck Barringer Jr., Gary and Dawn McCulley, and Wayne McCulley; grandchildren: Laurie, Matthew and Katie, Adam and Cassie, Sara and Lenny, Jason, Blake and Debbie, Melissa and Ryan; great-grandchildren: Caleb, Jace, Bailey, Adian, Ariel and Dylan; One brother Don McLain and wife Carol and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at MacArthur Funeral Home, 40 Cornell Ave., Hobart. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, February 9th at Charlotte Valley Presbyterian Church, St. Hwy 23, Davenport, with the Rev. Carol Wilson officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Davenport Cemetery.
