Obituary of Robert G. Barnhart

Robert G. Barnhart of Bovina Center, NY passed away at home on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. He was born in Bovina Center at home on Pink Street, the son of Wilford and Viola (Russell) Barnhart. He married Lillian Barnhart at Cabin Hill Church on April 17,1949. Robert resided in Bovina his entire life on Pink Street. He was a farmer and later in life worked for the Town of Bovina as an equipment operator and later was Superintendent of Highways for 12 years. He was a member of Bovina United Presbyterian Church, Delaware County Highway Superintendents Association and Leatherstocking J's Camping Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lillian; his children, Jean and Robert Little, Richard and Evelyn Barnhart, Deborah Tanner,Michael and Darlene Barnhart, Carol Barnhart and Dale and Kathy Barnhart and twenty-one grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Also survived by three sisters; Dorothy Hinkley, Jane and Arthur Howard and Edith Platt. He was predeceased by his brothers, Herbert and Wilford Barnhart, brother-in-law John Hinkley and grandson William Barnhart. Calling hours will take place on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 4-7pm at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi, NY. Memorial Services will be Tuesday, February 17th at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Spring in Bovina Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
