Obituary of Floyd Robert Cole

Andes Floyd Robert Cole, 83, of Andes, NY passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Oxford Veteran's Home in Oxford, NY. He was born July 30, 1931 in Oneonta, NY the son of Floyd and Estella Cole. He married Barbara Oliver on May 22, 1955 in Andes, NY. A Veteran of the United States Army he served as a paratrooper and radio operator during the Korean Conflict serving from 1951-53. He received the Bronze Service Star. From 1949-51 and 1953-58 Floyd worked as a Telegraph Operator for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad in Oneonta, NY; from 1959-80 he was a Dairy Farmer in Andes, NY and also worked driving a school bus for Andes Central School and for Decker's Feed Store in Andes. A Big Fan of local sports teams he also enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Cole, Andes, NY; his children, Holly and Heinz Bernacker, Delhi, NY, Wendy and George Redden, Andes, NY, David and Row Cole, Laguna Hills, CA and Donald and Christy Cole, Hobart, NY. His grandchildren; Patrick Noonan, Carly Deysenroth, Brent Cole, Troy Cole, Breanne Topper, Dylan Cole and Berkley Cole; three great grandchildren; a sister, Juanita Collins, Fort Ann, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Jayne Torry and brother Richard Cole. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. There will be a private family memorial at a later date. Arrangements are with the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi, NY.
