Obituary of Lorelle Phillips
Lorelle passed away, after a brief illness, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown on July 19, 2015. she was born in Englewood, New Jersey, daughter of Nicholas and Geraldine Magnan. After high school, she attended Sacred Heart Junior College in Belmont, North Carolina. She was employed for 30 years as a Technical Specialist at SUNY Delhi. Lorelle was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Church in Stamford. She loved playing cards and Mah Jongg with her many friends. She loved crafts, making many cards and albums. She was South Kortright's number one basketball fan and rarely missed a game since her days in high school. She is survived by a brother, Donald (Ellamae) Magnan and a sister Diane (Fred) Plate. Lorelle loved being and aunt to 8 nieces and nephews: Mary (Barry) Hendee, Michael (Gina) Magnan, Thomas (Robin) Magnan, Joseph Magnan, Deborah (Greg) Owen, David (Cathy) Plate, Jeanne (Kevin) Martin, Carolyn Plate. She also had 19 great nieces and nephews and 15 great-grand nieces and nephews. She always had time to listen and advise the older ones and cuddle and kiss the little ones. She was a true friend to many and each and every one were important to her. She is also survived by her loving dog, Ella. Friends are invited to call from 5-9 on Tuesday, July 21, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart. A mass will be held Wednesday, July 22 at 11:00 at Sacred Heart Church, Stamford. A luncheon will follow at the Parish Hall. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lorelle's memory may be made to South Kortright Central School Athletic Department.
