Obituary of Charles W. Turk

Charles W. Turk, 57, passed away August 9, 2015. He was born October 7, 1957 in Delhi, the son of Claude R. & Nancy (Martin) Turk. He was married to his high school sweetheart and best friend, Cynthia E. Vroman for 39 years. A lifelong resident of Delaware County, Charlie graduated from South Kortright Central School and the diesel engine program at ONC BOCES. After graduating Charlie became a partner in the family Holstein dairy, Turk Ridge Farms. After farming declined in the early 80's he found his second love, the open road. Charlie loved driving anything with wheels. He drove milk tanker for many years, then hauled freight across country for several companies. He had recently started his own trucking business, Turk Ridge Transportation, and had been hauling fifth wheel campers from the manufacturer in Indiana to dealers all over the east coast. He is survived by his wife Cindy of Harpersfield, his daughter Meagan Turk and her boyfriend Devin DuMortier of East Meredith; "little brother" Chris Turk and wife Teri of East Meredith. Charles was predeceased by his father Claude, mother Nancy, siblings Tammy, Laurie, James, Peter and Tim, and father-in-law Paul Vroman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. At Charlie's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
