Condolences
I got to know Bill while working at the Red Carpet, and further as a neighbor in Jefferson. It was always a pleasure to meet up with him--he had a great positive attitude towards life and you couldn't help but be in a better mood afterwards.
His efforts for our community are to be commended--more Bill Whritners would make the world a much better place!

It was a great honor for me to have worked along side of Bill. His big smile and laughter, would brighten up everybody's day. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten, as a member of the "Town of Newburgh Band of Brothers and Sisters".

Bill knew me my entire life. Great memories of him playing Santa, and camping trips with our families. He and my father started out on the TNPD about the same time. Condolences from the entire Spangenburg family.

John and Eric. May Bill Rest in Peace with your Mom. We have many nice memories of camping together, wrapping gifts for the PBA Christmas Party and sharing laughs with your Dad at your house. I worked for the Town and my hubby John worked with your Dad at the Police Department. He was a good man, a kind man and a true gentleman and someone we were lucky to meet and call a friend. Sincerely sorry about your loss,
Roseanne and John Smith

John & Eric --- So sorry to hear of your father's passing. We're good friends with your Aunt Kathy, and saw Bill from time to time at her and your Uncle Rit's. We had some good times together. I remember a bunch of us once going to a local winery when your cousin Cathy was working there, After some wine tasting we were having dinner. Our table had run out of rolls so your dad threw a roll or two across the room to us. He was always full of fun and ready wit and loved to make people laugh. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him. Carolyn & Don Tomlins

Sincere condolences to the family. May you rest in peace Bill.
I just wrote on FB that Bill was an iconic figure on the Town of Newburgh PD. He knew everyone and was liked by all. The last of the "neighborhood cop breed". much of his life was spent helping and encouraging others. God bless his family and soul, he made life better for many that will never know. RIP OFFICER WHRITNER
Worked with Bill at Town of Newburgh PD and shared many "A"line's with him.
Kept in touch with Bill after he retired and especially when he lost his wife.
"Buff" as we fondly called him, will be sadly missed as he demonstrated a true sense of serving others.
My condolences to Bill's family as the world is now just a little more sad at his passing.
