Obituary of Katherine Hait

Katherine Hait, 87, longtime resident of Hobart, passed away Tuesday morning, February 16, 2016 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home following a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure and Alzheimer's disease. Katherine was born on January 26, 1929 in Tarrytown, NY. She will be fondly remembered at the Stamford Town Clerk by many, a position she held for 19 years. Katherine was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Katherine is survived by her daughters: Willie (John) Palmer of Conesville and Janice (Larry) Frazee of Hobart; grandchildren: Angie (Tom) Moore of Stamford, Michelle (Andy Decker) Palmer of Hobart, Shawn (Alicia) Palmer of Durham and Sandra Palmer of Savannah, GA; great-grandchildren: Taylor Sherwood, Hunter Moore, Destiny Rose Brown, Lucy Palmer and Ruby Palmer; sisters: Winnie Bryden of Delhi and Barbara (Jack Finch) Seward of Hernando, FL; brother in law: Herbert (Mary) Hait; sisters-in-law: Frances Darrah, Flossie Jordan, Vera Hait and Margie Hait; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husbands Clayton Hait in February 1950, Donald Hait in May 1963, and daughter Jackie Davis in December 1997. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 1PM-3PM on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 40 Cornell Ave., Hobart. Graveside funeral services will be private in the spring at Locust Hill Cemetery, Hobart. Contributions in memory of Katherine may be made to the American Heart Association or Catskill Area Hospice.
