Obituary of Julia S. Martin

Julia S. Martin, 86, of N. Greenbush and Ormond Beach, FL passed away suddenly on July 14, 2014 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy following a short illness. Born on July 16, 1927 in Harrisonburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Koper. Julia was a graduate of Mechanicsville High School and received an associate's degree in accounting from Albany business College. She worked as a computer operator for the NYS Dept. of Taxation. Julia was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose (Ormond Beach), Pulaski Club (Albany), Polish American Club (Daytona Beach), Wynantskill, Poestenkill, Troy and Ormond Beach Seniors Clubs. She was a lifelong member of the YMCA and visited East Greenbush and Ormond Beach YMCAs daily. She also volunteered at Equinox Thanksgiving Dinner in Albany for over 40years. She enjoyed Polka dancing, socializing with friends, using her computer to email and stay in touch with relatives, genealogy, attending extended family reunion and especially loved her grandchildren and was grateful to have met her first great-grandchild, this days after her arrival this past December. Besides her parents, Julia was predeceased by ten brothers and sisters. Survivors include, a Daughter: Karen Gleason, Ormond Beach, FL ; grandsons: Gregory Migirditch, Jr. and wife Kristy, Collierville, TN and Adam Migirditch; great-granddaughter: Samantha Avery Migirditch, Collierville, TN; sisters: Irene Schweder, Malta, NY and Nellie Bongermino and husband Peter of Clifton Park, NY; numerous nieces and nephews and former son-in-law Greg Migirditch, Sr. and wife Theresa. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 6-8pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18, at 10AM with the Rev. Dawn Alpaw, officiating. Burial will follow in Blooming Grove Rural Cemetery.
