Obituary of Marie T. Stein

DELHI - Marie T. Stein, 88, lifelong Delhi resident, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2014, at Fox Hospital Nursing Home, Oneonta following a long illness. Born September 26, 1925 in Delhi, the daughter of the late Charles Leland and Evelyn (Potts) Tuttle Marie was a supervisor for SUNY Delhi, working in the Food Service and Hospitality Center for many years. Mrs. Stein was married to Charles Ernest Stein for over 66 years until he passed on June 5, 2013. She and Charles often traveled to Canada on fishing trips enjoying the company of their close friends, the Shaw's. Marie enjoyed knitting and baking, especially known for her famous brownies. She also enjoyed selling AVON. Surviving are two sons, Mike (Jean) and Leland (Susan) Stein; daughter-in-law, Nadine Stein, all of Delhi; sister, Norma Green of FL; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by her son, Wayne in 2011. Visitation: 7 to 9 pm Friday, August 8th, at Hall & Peet Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 9 at the United Ministry, Church Street, Delhi with Rev Bert More, officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
