Obituary of Hilda M. Osterhout

Hilda M. Osterhout, 89, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Hudson Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Albany. Born on February 8, 1925 in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of the late Eric and Jessie Smalley. She married Ernest Francis Osterhout on July 8, 1945 in Edmeston, he passed away in 1982. Mrs. Osterhout worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for the former Osterhout's Business Machine in Oneonta, and later worked for several years as a secretary at Fox Hospital, Oneonta. She lived in West Oneonta before coming to Delhi, she was a resident at the former Countryside Care Center before moving to the Hudson Center in Albany. She was an active member of the West Oneonta Baptist Church, where she served as Choir Director. Hilda was also a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her loving children, John F. Osterhout and wife Yvonne of Pensacola, Fl, Barbara Thompson and husband Louie of Tacoma, WA, Ann Wright and life partner David Davies of West Laurens. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, John and Joy Osterhout, Necia and Buran Doyon, David and Christine Osterhout, Elaina Osterhout, Ernest J. Osterhout, Erik and Carly Thompson, Kirk Thompson, Joseph Roy, Manda Mae Wright and Sabrina Osterhout who predeceased her; she is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Ernest and granddaughter, Sabrina, Hilda was predeceased by two sisters Ruma and Ann and a brother-in-law, Jack Henderson. Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Ouleout Valley Cemetery, State Hwy 357, Franklin, the family has requested that everyone dress casually.
