Obituary of David T. Call

David T. Call, 69, of Bovina Center, passed away late Friday evening, December 18, 2015, at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown, after a long, gallant fight against cancer. Born on January 28, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA, David was the son of the late Thomas D. and Regina (Connelly) Call. He was married to Susan Wilkinson Call on December 7, 1973 in NYC. The couple enjoyed 42 years of marriage. David worked first as a stockbroker in Philadelphia and later for Irving Trust Bank in New York City. He retired at Assistant Vice President of The Bank of New York. He was an active member and past president of the Delhi Rotary Club. David loved people and made many close friends over the years. He enjoyed attending country auctions and local events. He also enjoyed animals and caring for his dogs, alpacas, mini-horses and donkey. David took great pride in his Bovina property, where the mountain views, woods, ponds and pastures gave him much pleasure. Besides his wife, Susan, David is survived by two children: Elizabeth Call and her husband Jesse Lansner of NYC; and John Call and his wife Wendy Cunningham of Benicia, CA. He had five grandchildren: Sadie and Beatrice Lansner; and Keira, Alina and Connor Call. He was close to his three sisters, Deidre Baker of Shell Knob, MO; Sheila McMillan of Cape Fair, MO; and Susan Devine of Pittsburg, PA. Friends and relatives are invited to a memorial celebration of David's life on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Bovina Town Hall. All are welcome anytime from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
