Obituary of Betty Ann Dougherty Barnett

Betty Ann Barnett, 61 of Moscow, Idaho passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Gritman Medical Center. Betty was born August 10, 1954 to Richard and Margaret (Yearry) Dougherty in Oneonta, NY. She grew up in Delhi and graduated from Delaware Academy class of 1972.She moved to Washington in the early 1980"s and married James Thomas Barnett in Yakima in 1983. They made their home in Richland. James passed away in March of 1993. She then moved to Quincy, WA in 1994, to Spokane in 1999 and to Moscow in 2009. Betty enjoyed playing bingo, doing arts and crafts, doll collecting, writing poetry and helping others. Her greatest joy was when she could make it back to New York to visit her loving family. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Dougherty of Meridale, her children Matthew Griffin of Moscow, Angie and Ramona Griffin of Georgia, Amanda MacDonald of Moscow and her step children Roseanna Cameron of George, WA, Becky Barnett of Benton City, WA and Kevin and James Barnett both of Ephrata, WA. She also leaves her siblings Mark (Eileen) Dougherty, Cindy (Edward) Maciatek, Lisa (John) Townsend, Andrew (Diana) Dougherty, Richard (Donna) Dougherty and Matthew (Danielle) Dougherty along with numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her father Richard A. Dougherty, Sr. on May 6, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 11:30AM on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, 21 Second Street, Delhi, with the Rev. Jeff Staples officiating.
