Obituary of Elizabeth "Betty" Stines

Elizabeth M. Stines, 92, of Oneonta, passed away on March 12, 2020 at NYS Veterans Home in Oxford.

Born on February 3, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Elizabeth (Weber) Melichar.

Elizabeth was married to William H. Stines in 1950, the couple enjoyed 54 years of marriage until his passing in 2004.

Mrs. Stines was an Elementary School Teacher, retiring in 1980 from Levittown Public Schools.

Besides her husband, Elizabeth was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law: Beth and David Manch; a brother: Rudolph Melichar; and a sister: Claire Simpson.

She is survived by two nieces: Diane (Melichar) Davis and June (Melichar) Aukerman; and four nephews: Craig Melichar, Allen Simpson and Russell and Gary Stines.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 10AM on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Woodland Cemetery, Delhi, with the Rev. Paul Messner officiating.
