Obituary of Craig W. Albrecht

Craig W. Albrecht, 62, of Summit, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Albany VA Hospital, Albany, NY.

Born on August 6, 1955 in Copaigue, Long Island, Craig was the son of the late Wilbur and Florence (Lawson) Albrecht.

Craig proudly served his country first in the US Army from 1974 until 1977 and then re-enlisted with the US Navy serving from 1977 until 1990.

He then worked for several years for various companies building roof trusses and last worked for Catskill Craftsmen in Stamford.

He was married to Margaret Albrecht on October 16, 1999.

Craig enjoyed woodworking and was also an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Besides his parents, Craig was predeceased by a sister, Susan Ekloff.

Mr. Albrecht is survived by his wife of 18 years: Margaret Albrecht of Summit; two daughters: Vivian and Karen Pierce both of Alabama; step-children: Penny Melay of Wurtzboro and Bill Arthur of Florida; and brothers: Jens Johnson of North Port, FL and Chris Johnson of Port Charlotte, FL.

A funeral service and celebration of life will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Jefferson United Methodist Church, 158 Main Street, Jefferson, NY.  Burial will full military honors will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, Jefferson.
