Obituary of Burnett A. Burnside

Burnett A. Burnside, 70, of Bloomville, passed away on Friday morning, April 1, 2016 at his home. Born on May 17, 1945 in Cooperstown, He was the son of the late Burnett and Edith (Johnson) Burnside. He worked as a truck driver for various companies including Ryder Truck and Leo Searles Trucking, he then worked for the Town of Kortright Highway Department. Burnett proudly served in the US Army from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1964. He was married on May 13, 1989 to Evelyn "Tina" (Seeley) Burnside. Burnett was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting fishing and gardening. He was a member of the American Legion Post #190, Delhi. Besides his wife, Tina, He is survived by five children: Jeffrey Burnside, Christopher Speenburgh, Jimmy Speenburgh, Steven Burnside and Patrick Burnside; sisters: Joyce Stone and JoAnn Wadsworth; one brother: Malcolm Burnside; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son Burnett "Bocky" Burnside. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-6PM on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 131 Main Street, Delhi, where a funeral service will follow at 6PM. Burial with full military honors will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Bloomville.
