Obituary of Lincoln D. Abrams

Lincoln D. Abrams was born on April 28, 1922, in Patchogue, NY, and peacefully passed away on April 28, 2016, at Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta, NY. Lincoln served in the 84th infantry division from 1942-1946. After seeing combat all over Europe during World War II, including the Battle of the Bulge, Lincoln was honorably discharged. He and his wife Virginia moved from Long Island in 1970 to Andes, NY, where he and Virginia owned the Tremperskill Country Store until he retired. Also as a carpenter, he built several homes in the area. When he finally retired, he worked as a grounds keeper at the Andes Cemetery for eight years. Lincoln was predeceased by three older brothers and three older sisters, his wife Virginia Abrams, and his daughter Patricia Scinta. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Cathi Abrams of Arizona; his son-in-law, Vincent Scinta of Andes; his two granddaughters and their spouses, Julene and Jeffrey Waffle of Laurens, NY, and Jeanine Scinta-Sass and Richard Sass of Andes, his two grandsons Michael and Thomas Abrams and his wife Lyla of Arizona, five great-grandsons and two great-grandaughters: Lincoln, Levi, and Lucas Waffle, Faith and Liem Sass, and Aidan and Emily Abrams, and his dear friend Hedy Rendler. No matter where Lincoln went or with whom he visited, Lincoln loved to tell a good story and he always enjoyed a good laugh. He will be greatly missed. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 11AM until 1PM on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 1PM with the Rev. Derek Johnson officiating. . Burial with full military honors will follow at Andes Cemetery.
