Obituary of Carl L. Stoesser

Carl L. Stoesser, 84, of South Kortright, passed away on late Saturday evening, April 30, 2016 at Mohawk Nursing Home, Illion. Born on October 18, 1931 in Delhi, He was the son of the late Heimer Stoesser and the late Viola Shaw Stoesser Vroman. Carl proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed for over 30 years by the New York State Department of Transportation, working as a heavy equipment operator out of both Delhi and Stamford. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and traveling. Carl was a very mechanical person and loved to fabricate machinery and build things, he could often be found in his shop repairing or creating machines or contraptions and adapting them to his use, never reading blue prints or directions but by inventing things in his head. Above all else Carl was a caring person, He would never say no to his family or friends that needed his help. He is survived by his companion, Dorothy L. Raeder of South Kortright; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by his brothers: Frank and Ralph Stoesser. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 5-7PM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at MacArthur Funeral Home, 40 Cornell Ave., Hobart. Burial with full military honors will take place at a later date.
