Condolences
Loretta was a friend from the time she came to Delhi and starting teaching at DA and thru the years. So worry to read of her passing.
With Sympathy,
Bette Braymer
I spent many hours with Miss vonBuehren at DA, not only in gym class but with all the various intra- and extramural sports. She had a way of reaching the competitive spirit in her students, and making you want to do your best. I also remember her sense of humor with requiring us all to spell her name correctly on tests!
May she rest in peace.

The Coach was not just a respected teacher. She was a good neighbor and a member of our extended family. Coach always kept her sense of humor, even when there was a horse (or two) strolling through her garden. She is fondly remembered and will be missed.

Memories of Miss Von Buehren make me smile! I can't ever think of a time when she was anything but kind to students or other teachers! I love reading of her professional accomplishments!

Coach - I cannot believe you are gone! You have been a rock to so many of us for years. I was in your first classes when you came to DA and I loved sports because of your devotion to the field and your dedication to each and every student. I was able to play all the sports offered and in particular basketball and finally in my senior year track and field! It was a privilege to know you. And I was privileged to have your suggestion to go to NYC and try out for the Semi Pro Basketball teams, which I didn't do, but you had enough faith in me to try. You will never be forgotten.

My sincere condolences. She was a fabulous lady and will be missed by so many.
Ms. von Buehren was a great gym teacher. I did not realize all that she had achieved in her life. What an amazing woman! I will never forget her gym classes or playing sports with her as a coach. I thought of her often. May she rest in peace.

A great friend and lovely person . We will miss her. Bill & Corkyl
Loretto always had a smile and encouraging word for her students. I was priveleged to work with her at DA.
Deepest sympathies on the passing of a wonderful person. She was dedicated and devoted to her students from Delaware Academy. She introduced me to the sport of field hockey and to this day, I still have my stick and hockey ball. She will be remembered for her smile, kindness and dedication to the sports that she so loved!

Miss vonBuehren was my coach through my high school years. She pushed me and grew me as an athlete. She left her mark on me. Karen Clark Hicks, DA 1976 graduate. Great memories playing field hockey, basketball, software and running track under Miss vonBuehren's watchful eye.
Loretto was a great example of dedication to the leadership role she played in the lives of so many young women. She had the second greatest influence on my life behind my mother. Her dedication and selfless time unmeasurable. She was always the first Christmas card I could expect without fail right up to this past December. Always interested in the details of life and family. I had the pleasure of sharing time with her when she visited our family home to celebrate mom's "celebration of life." I will always believe that she had the greatest part in influencing my career path and will always be grateful for her leadership. Loretto, rest in peace and know that you truly made a positive difference in the lives of so many young female athletes. I am grateful for your mentoring and friendship. Thank you.
I am heartbroken at the loss of Coach vonBuehren as she was one of my mentors in high school at DA (1967-1971). She believed in me when I didn't believe in myself and always encouraged me to do the best I could for the team!! Sports were my outlet and I am grateful for her care, encouragement, understanding and strength when sometimes I thought I had none! RIP Coach; God love you and keep you and you are epic and even in death, your memory is so precious!
Verna Jester Loker, Class of 67. Great memories from school, tennis and golf.
So very priviledged to be a student under this amazing woman. Loretto was and example of unlimited dedication to her students and athletes that she imspired. She was the most inspirational woman in my life outside of my mom. My life goals were driven because of her example and encouragement. She was the first Christmas card every year including this past, that I could look forward to. It was like her to honor our family by attending mom's celebration of life and I am so grateful for her visit to our home and my final opportunity to be honored with her presence.. I will be forever grateful for the character and dedication that Loretto gave to her world.. Love and peace friend..
Wonderful contribution to the students at DA including my family. I don't think Miss VonBuehren ever met a student she didn't like. She always had a great smile and always stopped to visit when you met her after her retirement. RIP.

My favorite coach, mentor, teacher at DA. She kept me grounded during hard times in my life. Absolutely loved her. Was just thinking of her actually. RIP
I was never as good at sports as I wanted to be, but Loretto was patient and tried to get you to do your best. I enjoyed playing team sports and learned a lot about being a team member while doing so. I will always remember her smile and her dedication to DA women's sports. Rest in peace, you will be missed
A committed and hard working teacher and coach even to those of us that were not so agile and talented in athletics! Always a smile.
