Obituary of Doris Menusan

STAMFORD _ Doris Menusan, 83, of Robinson Terrace, Stamford, passed away on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta. She previously resided at Stamford Senior Apartments. She was born July 4, 1928, in Edgewater, N.J., the daughter of Emil and Tessie (Liptak) Menusan. A 40-year resident of Stamford, prior to 1969, she worked in dairy farming with her father in Conesville. She then enjoyed employment at Stamford Central School and Grand Gorge Senior Meals Site as a cook. Doris was a member of the Stamford United Methodist Church where she served on Committees; she volunteered with the Girl Scouts and volunteered at C.O.R.E. Values Thrift Store in Stamford. She loved to read and attend basketball games at the Stamford Central School. She often spoke with former students who attended school when she worked there. She also enjoyed attending other sporting events in the Stamford area. She was very outspoken, but had a good sense of humor. Doris also loved Classic Country music and liked to do her laundry at 4 a.m. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, in the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart, with Pastor Dorothy Morris officiating. Burial will be in the Spring at Manorkill Cemetery, Manorkill. Contributions in her memory may be made to Stamford United Methodist Church. Arrangements are with the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart.
