Obituary of Eleanor J. Musall

STAMFORD Eleanor J. Musall, 73, of Stamford, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at home in Stamford. She was born on November 22, 1938 in Passaic, NJ, the daughter of Albert and Julia (Wyble) Smith. She married Frank Musall in New Jersey in 1956. Moving to the Jefferson area in 1961 to start a family farm, Eleanor eventually settled in Prattsville 5 years ago. Recently, due to the flooding in Prattsville, Eleanor moved to Stamford. Employed as a laborer for 16 years for Green Thumb Environmental Beautification, Inc., Eleanor spent the majority of her time working in Mine Kill State Park. A private person, Eleanor kept to herself. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by her significant other of 16 years, John Keegan of Stamford; a daughter, Cindy and Kevin Benge of Stamford; granddaughters, Amber and Don VanEtten, and Stacey and Fred Vasta, all of Stamford; great grandchildren, Paige, Gavin, Tyler, Allison, and Bailey; a brother, Albert Smith of Coxsackie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Smith. Calling hours will take place on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., immediately following, with Rev. Sally Soltysiak, officiating. Burial will take place in Stamford Cemetery, Stamford. Contributions in Eleanor's memory may be made to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.
