Obituary of Virginia Morse

HOBART _ Virginia Morse, 90, passed away Friday evening, July 27, 2012, at the Wells House in Johnstown. She was born in Gilboa on Dec. 11, 1921, the daughter of Oliver and Ida Jones. She was a 1939 graduate of Roxbury High School and received her LPN degree from SUNY Delhi. A former resident of Hobart, she was a Stanley Home Products Demonstrator and District Manager. After obtaining her LPN degree she was employed at the Delaware County Infirmary. Moving to Gloversville later in life, she was also employed at Nathan Littauer's Extended Care until her retirement. She was of the Protestant faith, having been a member of the Hobart United Methodist Church, an Elder of South Kortright Presbyterian Church and a member of the Bleecker St. Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Delhi American Legion Auxiliary and the Gold Star Mothers organization. Virginia is survived by two daughters, Beverly and William Yanno of Gloversville and Marie Frederick of Tamarac, Fla.; her son-in-law, Dennis Hill; her grandchildren, Dwayne (Marylee) and David (Gloria) Hill, James (Jennifer) Yanno, Gina (Brad) Yanno King, Christopher (Sheena), Donald (Kim) and Michael (Monica) Frederick; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Harold; daughter, Barbara Hill; son, James; son-in-law, Donald Frederick; and half-sister, Alice Koch. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
