John was a very special friend. I enjoyed his perspective as a teacher and friend. He is in a better place now. My thoughts and prayers are with Paddy and family.
I worked with John for many years at SUNY Delhi and remember with fondness the sense of humor and twinkle in his eye. He was always willing to take time to talk to me about the hotel field which my children were interested in. My sympathies are with his family at this time.

Mr. Magnuson was always there for me; when I was a student of his AND well after graduation!.
He changed my life by guiding me to a positive place in my personal life and my professional career.

I was a student of John's during the early 1970's. I can honestly say that he had a profound impact on me, both as a business professional, but also as a human being. I never failed to remember and utilize many of the things he taught me during my career. Since his passing, I have been in touch with many former classmates and friends from Delhi. We are all equally touched by his passing and mindful of what he meant to so many.
May God welcome him into heaven and may you find comfort in the fact that so many are grateful for the gifts he gave us throughout the years.
