I knew Gertrude "Gertie" Clark the entirety of my life. In fact, my first memory as a child includes Gertie. She was ever present in my life in both both good and bad times. Gertie was an integral part of my family, and equally integral to their success. It's difficult for me to imagine a world without Gertie, her generosity of spirit and tireless devotion will be sorely missed. So it it is with a heavy heart that I express my deepest sympathies to the Clark Family, your loss is my loss.

Gert was my landlord for the house she rented us in Delhi NY and she was always so sweet to us and I have many fond memories of us laughing and talking for hours. My greatest condolances and prayers to her close friends and family.
Everyone is endowed with fundamental spirits from birth. The good spirit manifests itself in most of us. The spirit of kindness generosity, loving care, dependable concern, friendly dedication and a forgiving nature were all passionately reflected in Gertrude Clark's unselfish actions. "Gertie", as some affectionately called her, will be missed. She was a staunch, loyal, loveable, friend.

Dear Mark,
I was so very sad to read about the death of your aunt, Gertrude.
She was so wonderful and sweet to me and Florrie when we visited as guests of Katherine Franke.
She told us so many life stories that amused us and told us of a different lifestyle than our own broadening our understanding of the human species. This was all done while Candy darted in and out between her legs as she tried to keep her in the kitchen.
Gertrude was a kick and a great spirit, exuberant in personality and extraordinary in her cooking. She will live with me in my memory as long as I can remember. What she brought to Balsam Lake cannot be replaced.
Long live the spirit of Gertrude A. Clark!
Gertie Clark was so easy to love. She was kind, gentle and strong, all in one package. She smiled so easily. She just made you feel good, even in the most difficult of times. She was compassionate and generous. She exemplified: Faith, hope and charity every day. Most of all, she was a loyal and non-judgemental friend to so many people. As everyone knows, our beloved Gertie was sheer magic in any kitchen. I think the Magic Chef brand was named after her. She is simply irreplaceable and unforgettable. But she now has a new eternal purpose, to be " our heavenly guardian angel" until we meet her again. I love you Gertie...
