Obituary of Joyce C. Hall

Joyce C. Hall, 78, of Andes, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.

Born on April 24, 1946, in Andes, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Gwendolyn (Reynolds) Cole, Sr.

She married George Hall, Sr., George passed away in 2010.

Joyce was a beautician and operated Joyce’s Beauty Shop in Andes for many years, she also was a school bus driver for Andes Central School.

She enjoyed crafts, especially quilting, knitting and crocheting, often making baby blankets and gifts for family and friends.  Joyce was a gifted cook and a talented baker.

Joyce was active in the Andes Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, she was a member of the Andes Fire Dept. Auxiliary, the Andes Senior Citizens Club and was a Cub Scout Leader.  In more recent years she enjoyed spending time with her close friends the “Golden Girls”.

She is survived by her sons: George (Christine) Hall, Jr. and Robert (Maria) Hall both of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren: Meredith, Nathan, Abby and Cole Hall; brother: Glenn (Barbara) Cole, Jr. of Andes; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at 12PM on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Andes Fire Hall.
