Obituary of Mary E. "Ginger" Monette

Mary E. Monette, 84, of Terre Haute, IN. has gone to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, March 14, 2025. Ginger, as friends and family knew her, was born December 27, 1940, in Oneonta NY to Elizabeth C. Van Duesen and Theron F. Van Duesen.

 She is survived by her two children, Timothy T. Rusch (Kathleen) and Priscilla E. Wolfe (Clyde “Jay”) 4 Grandchildren Kelly Cartagena Rusch (Salvador), Lisa Whigham (Devin), Mackenzie E. Potter (Colin) Jared J. Wolfe (Sarah) and 3 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Lee Rusch.

 Ginger lived in many places and loved to travel but spent most of her adult life in Terre Haute IN where she raised her family and was part of her community. She loved animals, nature and music. She was a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years and played violin in the Terre Haute Symphony. She was an ongoing student and eager to learn new things. As a young adult, she started her studies at Katherine Gibbs School in New York City NY. Her greatest passion was gems and jewelry as a gemologist, and she excelled as a sales associate for Kay Jewelers until her retirement.

Ginger enjoyed being outdoors and frequently visited Deming Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to: TREES Inc., PO Box 3683, Terre Haute, IN 47803

Ginger will return home to be buried in Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, NY alongside her parents.
