Obituary of Jacqueline Ingram Morris
Jacqueline "Jackie" Ingram Morris died peacefully at her home on November 26, 2021, at the age of 89. She was surrounded by her family.
Born in Brooklyn Jackie grew up in Yonkers, New York, where in 1950 she graduated from Charles E. Gorton High School. After attending the Central Park School of Art, she embarked on a career as a freelance fashion illustrator. She enjoyed success in the New York City fashion industry but was particularly proud of her work for the famous Barr Department Store in St. Louis, Missouri, where her illustrations were published in the Post Dispatch Newspaper.
In 1959, she married Dr. Thomas Q. Morris and together they raised three children - Thomas P. Morris, Amy C. Morris Pickens, and MaryAnne B. Morris - all of whom survive her with daughter-in-law Katherine and son-in-law Jeremy Pickens plus two grandchildren Grace D.I Morris and Thomas H. Q. Morris.
After living in Chappaqua, NY for forty years the family began a gradual move to the farm in Bloomville where she resided for the past two decades. Jackie loved everything about living upstate - the beautiful countryside, the animals - both domestic and wild - and especially the people. The flower gardens and greenhouse brought her special joy.
Over the years, Jackie generously shared her artistic talents with many organizations but particularly schools. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family and all who knew her.
