Obituary of Herman J. Bugge

On the early morning of October 24, 2021, heaven gained another angel. 19 years after a heart transplant Herman finally got of the roller coaster of emotions, ups and downs, hospital visits, and endless poking and prodding. Herman was married for a short time to his 1st wife. He met the love of his life and soulmate Julia during a truck stop at a diner. Herman started driving truck for Treadwell Lumber at the age of 16. He was a real estate agent. He owned and set up kiddie rides for some time. There were many other jobs throughout his life; but the one he enjoyed the most and made him the happiest was playing Santa. He never got paid for this. His children and eventually grandchildren would fill paper bags of goodies for years like elves. He visited young and old throughout Delaware County, and often did parties.

Herman was predeceased by his parents, his sister Elsie, a few good friends, a niece, and his loving wife of 53 years Julia.

He is survived by his children Laura (Earl) Fessenden, Jill (James) Carmody, Julie (Dave) Cobane, Lillian (Sissy) Moore, and Herman (Skip) Bugge and his wife Deb. Grandchildren Kimberly and Jeremy Carmody, Regina, Dennis, and Angel (Laura), Patrick and Russell Cobane, Krystya and Kassandra Moore, Jacob and Mitchell Bugge. Along with numerous Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. He also had numerous foster children in his life.

Herman was a well loved and respected part of the community. His family and friends were his joy in life. There are no words to describe the loss we feel at this time.

Friends and Family are invited to join us in a celebration of Herman's life at the Delhi American Legion on Saturday November 6th at 2pm. Stories, tears, and laughter are welcome.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, hospitals - including Hershey Medical Center, caregivers, nurses, and Paul Decker for their support and compassion.

Donations can be made to the Tissue and Organ Transplant center in Albany.
