Obituary of Danny E. Tait

Danny E. Tait, 66, of Delhi passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Albany Medical Center following a sudden stroke.

A lifelong area resident, born on May 14, 1955 in Delhi, Danny was the son of the late Cullen and Doreen (Archabald) Tait.

Danny was a graduate of Delaware Academy and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, following his honorable discharge he returned to Delhi.

Mr. Tait was an extremely dedicated employee for CADI at SUNY Delhi, working there for 46 years until his passing. Danny was a notable figure around the Delhi, he was a member of the Donald W. Gleason Post #190-American Legion in Delhi. He was a league bowler in Walton and later in Oneonta.  Danny also enjoyed billiards and liked to play cards, especially pitch.

Besides his parents, Danny was predeceased by his sister: Darlene Tait in 2020; and a nephew: James Crosby in 2017.

Danny is survived by his siblings: Ronnie (Martha) Tait of South Kortright, Dale Tait of Andes, Donna Crosby of Delhi, Diane Tait of Delhi and Douglas (Yun) Tait of Dayton, OH; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

Graveside services with full military honors for Danny and his sister Darlene will be held at 1PM on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.  Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the American Legion, 41 Page Ave., Delhi, for a celebration of life following the cemetery services.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the USMC Toys for Tots www.toysfortots.org or to the Wounded Warriors Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org in memory of Danny.
