Obituary of Dorothy Mary Vanderlyn

Dorothy Mary Vanderlyn, 88, of South Kortright, passed away on Friday evening, March 26, 2021 peacefully at her home.

Born on September 27, 1932 in Andes, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Mary C. (Bush) Brisbane.

She worked as a quality control technician for Rotran Inc. in Shokan for many years until her retirement in 1996.

Dorothy was a gifted drawer, she enjoyed pastels and traveling.  He greatest joy was her family; Dorothy was a loving mother and proud grand/great-grandmother.

She was predeceased by two husbands; Glenn Ford Davis and Donald Vanderlyn; two sons: Richard Brisbane and Robert Davis; and her siblings: Effie, Gladys, Marsha, Marshall and Bobby.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Gloria Quick of Mt. Tremper, Bessie (Gary) Payne of South Kortright and Nancy Smith of Kingston; a sister: Margaret Dora Moshier of Andes; she is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Dorothy’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
