Obituary of Margaret Anne Willis
Anne Willis, 94, (Margaret Anne) of Stamford, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.
Born on February 10, 1924 in Roxbury, she was the third child of Mason Willis and Daisy Belle Rogers.
Their children were Alice, Roger, Margaret Anne and Philip.
Anne was raised in Stamford and later spent time in New Mexico participating in archeological digs of the Hopi & Zuni native tribes and at Chaco Canyon. Then she returned to Stamford and worked as a Librarian at the Stamford Public Library.
Anne had a passion for history and became Village Historian for the Stamford, taking on the position that was held by her mother Daisy Desilva.
She also travelled to Ireland with her mother to research family records there.
Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her nephew and niece: David McCauley and Nancy Palermo. Both children of her beloved sister Alice.
She is survived by her nephews and nieces: Timothy Willis of Voorheesville, Matthew Willis of Albany, Barbara Smith of Lodi, NY and Janet Singer of Santa Cruz, CA.
Friends and relatives are invited to call from 11AM until noon Oct 13, followed by a time of sharing at MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford. Burial will take place at Stamford Cemetery.
