Obituary of Donald J. Magnan

Donald J. Magnan, 88, of South Kortright, passed away after a lengthy illness.

He was born in NYC on March 6, 1929, to the late Nicholas and Geraldine (White) Magnan.

He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Jack, and a sister Lorelle.

Donald attended Morrisville College of Agriculture.

For 40 years he was owner/operator of Magnan Meat Distributor in Bloomville, NY. Every day he found joy in working and interacting with his customers.

His honor was to have served as a Marine from 1946-1948.

Donald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ellamae, daughter and son-in -law, Barry & Mary (Magnan) Hendee, son and daughter in law, Michael & Gina(Imperial) Magnan, son and daughter in law, Thomas & Robin(Martin) Magnan, son Joseph Magnan ,11 grandchildren,12 great grandchildren, sister Diane Plate  and many nieces and nephews.

His greatest joy in life was his family, and playing with the children.

There will be no viewing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Saturday Dec. 16th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Stamford with the Rev. Michael Cambi, Celebrant. Burial with full military honors will be held in the spring at Locust Hill Cemetery, Hobart.
