Elizabeth Katherine Vroman

Elizabeth Katherine Vroman, 57, passed away on June 20th, 2020 after being diagnosed with lymphoma last year.

Elizabeth (Liz) was born on July 1st, 1962 to Bill and Loretta Vroman. Liz was raised in Hamden, NY and attended Delaware Academy. At age 12, Liz gained a stepmom, Edith (Edie) Vroman. Liz grew up with six siblings, Bonnie, Kathy, Barbara, Rick, Linda, and Tom. Liz also had a nephew, Ken; and a niece, Katrina, that were raised as her siblings.

As a young adult, Liz moved to Greene County, NY; where she lived for many years and went on to make a home for her children. Only recently, Liz returned to the home she grew up in on Hamden Hill.

Liz had a great appreciation for nature, and would take photographs of the mountains when the leaves changed color in autumn. Liz was an avid gardener; her flower and vegetable gardens thrived every year. Liz enjoyed craft projects, knitting, and embroidery. She spent a lot of her spare time making gifts for those closest to her. More than anything, Liz loved her family.

Liz is survived by her six children, Tara, Kaitlyn, Rudy, Trisha, Kendra, and Roarden; her granddaughters, Hailey, Madison, and Scarlett; her grandson, Alexander; and a number of loving relatives and close friends.

A virtual funeral service will be given by an elder from the Cobleskill Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Sunday, June 28th, 2020 at 2:00 Eastern time.*The Zoom tie-in meeting ID and phone number will be available later in the week. Those who don't use video are welcome to listen by phone.

There will also be a small memorial and reception for family and close friends, held in East Durham, NY on Saturday, July 4th, 2020, at 1:00 pm. If you would like to attend, please reach out to Liz’s daughter Tara for more information.

“Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears, then don’t remember me at all.”
